![]() They have created and kept improving their data recovery tool since 2004.Ī lot of refinement has gone into their product, creating something that is pretty difficult to beat. Yes, the headquarters of EaseUS is in China. They advertise a recovery rate of 99.7%, which I think is reasonably accurate. I have found EaseUS’s Data Recovery Wizard to be very dependable in retrieving missing data as long as nothing unusual has caused a data retrieval program to be unable to perform its task. So, it shouldn’t expose your computer to the internet in any way that is different from the normal operation of your computer system. It simply reads the drive you want data recovered from and creates a copy of the data for you to store in a different location of your choice.Īdditionally, I found no evidence of weak security in the software that can cause your computer to be compromised more easily.īy looking at the tasks in memory when it runs, you won’t find any unnecessary open ports to the internet that can contribute to poor security. Causing a weakened security situation due to poor development practices.ĮaseUS’s Data Recovery Wizard doesn’t violate these principles at all. ![]() Introducing any harmful or malicious into your machines such as spam or viruses.Deleting any personal data without your express permission.Altering any personal files on your computer without your full consent.I think sending any information back to servers containing personal information starts falling into the unsafe category. ![]() Is EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard safe?įirstly, I’d like to cover what I think, in no uncertain terms, what safe software is about. I simply had to reselect order by file type in descending order once again, which was done in two mouse clicks. The files were ordered by the default filename order and not by type. It wouldn’t be a problem for most, but keeping data recovery folders well-structured was a small challenge in my case.Īnother welcomed change would be to apply the last selected ordering of files to newly selected folders.Īfter completing a second search and moving into a second folder, I still had ordered by file type active, but the list of files wasn’t ordered that way. It would be nice if these folder structures were created a little cleaner. Changes I’d personally likeĪfter recovering a folder and discovering another, I proceeded to select more files I wanted to restore from a search for a specific folder.Īfter performing a data recovery of the next batch, I discovered that new folders were being created with each recovery type, and I ended up with multiple folders quickly piling up. Unchecking all the unwanted file types after ordering them that way was inconvenient and can be easily avoided with a simple filter feature. This way, I don’t need to recover all the video footage if all I’m after are some photos. Features I would welcomeĪ feature I would like added would be the ability to select specific file types within a folder I wish to recover. Once again, EaseUS’s Data Recovery Wizard did a great job of getting my data back. So, overall, I was delighted that I managed to get 98% of my deleted family photos back. They weren’t so important that I was motivated enough to go and remove the newly added files to recover those unrecovered photos. Unfortunately, there were a small handful of images that I couldn’t recover, but that was my fault.Īfter the images were deleted, I added some files to my NAS, making data recovery almost impossible. Thankfully, I managed to get most of my photos back.
